This is one print from a short series that Kunichika produced at the end of his life. It is a lovely thing, Kunichika was nearing the end of his life, he draws the innocence and the opportunity of new life, in this case the discovery of reflection. It is a delicate and intimately drawn thing, quite unlike the brashness or the drama of his theatre prints and has a real delicacy and beauty that is very moving. I know of only one collection of this series.
A rare print, colour, impression and condition are all fine.
25 x 36 cm.
