Welcome to the first ‘Stock Clearance Sale’ at the Toshidama Gallery for eight years. Usually, discounts are only available to Newsletter subscribers, but to give everyone the opportunity to own a great work of Japanese art, we are opening the sale up to everyone. Without doubt these Japanese prints are some of the great artefacts of world culture. The ukiyo-e of Kuniyoshi and Yoshitoshi, Kunisada and Hiroshige, have featured in museum shows all over the world for the last twenty years… the self same prints are available from Toshidama Gallery today for as little as £100. This is really a great opportunity to own museum standard, authentic, original art for a very small investment.
The great works of ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints) - those prints that you see pinned to the screen in the background of Manet’s portrait of Emil Zola or slavishly reproduced in paint as parts of the great masterpieces of van Gogh or Monet… are on the gallery site here for sale during December. Each print is well documented with high definition scans and is authenticated with a certificate of authenticity and an extensive explanation as to the background of the subject matter, the genre, artist and the condition of the piece when you purchase a print. Prints are insured and securely shipped and can be conservation mounted by request, here at the gallery.
Interest in Japanese woodblock prints continues to flourish with international shows and numerous lavish, coffee table books. We are proud of our two informative blogs at e-blogger and at Wordpress and of the massive amount of research and educational material that the gallery here produces every year.
I sincerely hope that you enjoy visiting our various sites, that you find something here that you would like to purchase and that you extend your interest and take advantage of our regular discounts by joining our newsletter. We enthusiastically welcome new clients for the coming year and thank our many existing and satisfied customers for their continued loyalty.
Wishing all of our visitors a happy holiday in December and happy and prosperous 2019.
Toshidama Gallery Director.
